{"id":183142,"date":"2014-10-28T04:00:40","date_gmt":"2014-10-27T18:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=183142"},"modified":"2014-10-28T04:00:40","modified_gmt":"2014-10-27T18:00:40","slug":"60-join-tinian-mtb-race","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/60-join-tinian-mtb-race\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 60 join Tinian MTB race"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2nd Annual Tinian Pedaling for Progress took place last Saturday with the early morning showers failing to deter bikers and supporters from participating in the 35-kilometer MTB race.<\/p>\n<p>The Bikers Association of Tinian organized the race together with Pretty In Pink Foundation.  The event attracted more than 60 participants and was also dubbed as Progress Breast Cancer Awareness Ride with the event beginning and ending at Taga Beach.  <\/p>\n<p><a attid=\"183147\"  href=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/tinian2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/tinian2-300x163.jpg\" alt=\"tinian2\" width=\"300\" height=\"163\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-183147\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s event also includes a youth and children\u2019s awareness ride with more than 20 joining the race.  The youth and children\u2019s awareness ride was sponsored by Gineftao and Tinian Premier Football Club. Lt Governor Jude Hofschneider  came out to support the cause and registered for the race.<\/p>\n<p>Norlo  Jacosalem was the overall top finisher in the 35K race after timing in at 1:20:54. He also won in the men\u2019s 36 above age group, beating Winston Omar and Fernando Cacabelos, who clocked in at 1:26:18 and 1:28:39, respectively.  <\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s 35 below age group, J.C. Libut came in first at 1:24:50, while Shingo Kajiwara checked in at second with his 1:26:19, and Ian Pascua  finished third with his 1:29:33.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s division, Kimberly King-Hinds was the top finisher at 1:25:19 and ruled the 36 and above age division, prevailing over Majorie Cabay ( 1:57:58).
