{"id":183149,"date":"2014-10-28T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-10-27T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=183149"},"modified":"2014-10-28T04:00:00","modified_gmt":"2014-10-27T18:00:00","slug":"geckos-sweep-make-games-vball","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/geckos-sweep-make-games-vball\/","title":{"rendered":"Geckos sweep make-up games in v\u2019ball"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saipan International School went perfect last Saturday, winning all its seven make-up matches in the 2014 Marianas Interscholastic Sports Organization Boys Volleyball League at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.<\/p>\n<p>SIS\u2019 varsity squad won all of its four matches, while its junior varsity team was victorious after three games. The Geckos\u2019 varsity team highlighted the sweep with a hard-earned 25-18, 25-21 decision over Grace Christian Academy with both teams battling for every point before the Geckos pulled away in the latter portion of the two sets.<\/p>\n<p>The Geckos\u2019 varsity also scored a 25-19, 25-8 triumph against the Saipan Southern High School Manta Rays and pulled off a 25-18, 25-11 victory over the Mt. Carmel School Knights. The defending champions completed the sweep with a 25-13, 25-18 win over the Marianas High School Dolphins.<\/p>\n<p><a attid=\"183151\"  href=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/misopix6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/misopix6-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"misopix\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-183151\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>SIS also defeated MHS in an all-junior varsity showdown, 25-8, 25-23 and won by forfeit against Saipan Southern varsity before recording a tough 25-16, 21-25, 15-17 victory against Kagman High School\u2019s varsity side.<\/p>\n<p>MHS\u2019 varsity team went 2-1 to improve its overall record to 7-2. The Dolphins, who lost by default against the Manta Rays\u2019 varsity in the first match, defeated the Knights and SSHS\u2019 junior varsity. MHS downed MSC,  forfeit, 25-23 and then escaped with a 25-17, 25-17 win over Saipan Southern.<\/p>\n<p>SSHS junior varsity went 2-1 after that loss to MHS varsity, beating Mt. Carmel varsity, 25-14, 25-22 and MHS junior Varsity, 25-14, 23-25, 15-10, before closing out its assignments with a 25-27, 20-25 defeat at the hands of KHS varsity.<\/p>\n<p>The Kagman Ayuyus also dropped a 9-25, 17-25 loss to the GCA Eagles in other results, while Marianas Baptist Academy\u2019s varsity team split its four games. MBA opened up with consecutive wins over MHS junior varsity, 25-16, 25-12, and Saipan Southern varsity, 15-25, 25-14, 15-11. The Stormz then dropped its last two games, suffering  a sorry 25-22, 16-26, 12-15 loss to the GCA Eagles\u2019 varsity team and 20-25, 23-25 over the Mt.
