(Roselyn B. Monroyo)

Shirley’s Football Club and Kanoa Football Club notched easy wins in their respective games in the Women’s M-League last Saturday at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.

Shirley’s FC played in the first match of the league’s Week 3 and topped the debuting Paire Football Club, 5-0.

Alexa Vergara towed Shirley’s FC to its third win in as many matches after scoring three goals. Jeraldine Castillo and Negahr Rastguiy registered the two other goals for the unbeaten Shirley’s FC with the former kicking off the team’s scoring right in the first minute of the match.

Vergara then hit the board in the 17th minute to start her string of three goals, as she found the back of the net, too in the 36th and 47th minute. Rastguiy closed out for Shirley’s with her goal in the 53rd minute.

In the third and last game of the week, Kanoa FC downed MP United, 7-4.

Jeralyn Castillo starred in the victory, firing six goals, five of them came in succession.

Jeralyn Castillo drained her first goal in the 13th minute to tie the match after Jayda Mendoza scored for MP United in the third minute. A Mikky Vargas goal in the 17th put Kanoa on top, but MP United retaliated off Karleen Reyes’ shot in the 21st to force another deadlock. Jeralyn Castillo then broke the standoff with her second goal in the 24th and had her third six minutes later to give Kanoa a 4-2 halftime lead.

Jeralyn Castillo kept going in the second half, making three more goals, while MP United countered with only two courtesy of Mendoza’s second goal in the match and Kayla Ito’s first.

Kanoa improved its record to 2-0-1 (win-draw-loss), while MP United fell to a 0-0-3 card.

In the other game in the Women’s M-League, Tan Holdings forced a draw against Matansa FC, 3-3.

Stephanie Camacho made the equalizer in the 70th minute, while Mary Kay Alferos and Krizel Tuazon posted the two other goals for Tan Holdings, which now has a 1-1-0 slate.

Matansa, which drew goals from Bernadette Horey, Sabrina Santos, and Kelsey Lizama, has yet to barge into the win column after two games. It dropped its opener against Independents FC and had its match against Paire FC in Week 2 rescheduled.

Horey made it to the board first (16th minute), while Alferos followed suit nine minutes later to even up the count before Tuazon scored in the 33rd to hand Tan Holding’s the lead. However, Tan Holdings lost the upper hand, as Matansa got back-to-back goals in a span of two minutes from Santos and Lizama to take the halftime lead. Matansa hung on to the driver’s seat in the first part of the second half before Camacho came into Tan Holding’s rescue and tied the match.

Meanwhile, Wild Bill’s won the lone game played in the M-League last Sunday at the Oleai pitch.

Thanyakorn Konkoed scored in the 32nd minute to put Wild Bill’s on top and this teammates played solid defense in the remaining minutes to shut out Tan Holdings FC.

Shirley’s Football Club and Kanoa Football Club notched easy wins in their respective games in…

[5
78
post-183528","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports","tag-tan-holdings
["GET
