(Contributed Photo)

Mariana Islands Bodybuilding Dee Clayton Classic champion Aaron Tomokane learned a lot from his participation in last weekend’s 2014 Michelob Ultra Bodybuilding & Body Fitness Championship and International Invitational in Guam and looks to share these information to other bodybuilders.

Tomokane joined the physique event of the Guam tournament and placed eighth out of the 13 participants in the field, which also include Japan and the hosts’ bets

“It was a good opportunity for me and Gerald (Galang) to compete against pros from Guam and Japan. It was a great experience and we learned so much that would further help us with our training. And we could also pass the information to others.”

Tomokane specifically wanted to share insights to younger bodybuilders in the CNMI.

“There are a number of young bodybuilders now on Saipan. Young kids are stepping up and hopefully they are the future of bodybuilding,” said Tomokane.

Tomokane named Gino Celis, George Pangelinan, Nate Cruz, Vince Aldan, Gerald Galang, Donovan Mendiola, Alberto Roberto and John Nekaifes as some of the younger generation of bodybuilders who could represent the CNMI in future competitions. He added that these young bodybuilders and a number of veterans should start training to prepare for upcoming competitions.

“What we’re trying to do is get organized and hold another competition so everyone here on Saipan can compete against each other. Just for fun. We’re working on that as soon as possible,” added Tomokane.

Meanwhile, after joining back-to-back competitions in less than two months, Tomokane is planning to take a break.

“I want to take some time off for now. Bodybuilding is a different sport, you have to train and at the same time watch what you’re eating especially when you have to cut weight,” said the Gold’s Gym personal trainer, who is begging off from representing the CNMI in the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.

“If you’re going to ask me, I would rather send somebody else. I will support him, and help him with his training and preparation for the Pacific Games,” the Commonwealth Bodybuilding Federation treasurer added. (Jon Perez)

Mariana Islands Bodybuilding Dee Clayton Classic champion Aaron Tomokane learned a lot from his participation…

[5
26,51,170,196
post-183538","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports","tag-cnmi","tag-guam","tag-japan","tag-papua-new-guinea
["GET
