The Seventh-Day Adventist Dental Clinic on Saipan has donated $60,000 to the Seventh Day Adventist School for its needs-based scholarship program.<\/p>\n

The scholarships will be awarded to students ranging from Kindergarten to the eight-grade, according to Michael Berglund, principal of SDA School.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou are creating dreams,\u201d he told staff and doctors present during a presentation of thanks from SDA students held at the clinic on Friday.<\/p>\n

The clinic has also donated $40,000 to pave the school\u2019s parking lot, Berglund said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s great. I\u2019m really excited. We love having these students in school,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

He said the scholarships would help the school continue to \u201cblend backgrounds,\u201d as they enjoy having students from different parts of the community attend their school.<\/p>\n

The scholarships, Berglund, said should account for 30 percent of the student\u2019s tuition. <\/p>\n

Students apply for these scholarships, he said, and they are needs based.<\/p>\n

Quincy Chichen, who presented a poster of appreciation to the clinic along with Langting Sizemore, said her mother told last summer she would be attending another school unless she gets a job or scholarships to help pay her tuition. Chichen didn\u2019t want that. She thanked the clinic for helping her continue her studies at SDA.<\/p>\n

The students also played a video clip of thanks during the visit.<\/p>\n

In other SDA news, their \u201cprincipals list\u201d for the first quarter has been announced. The list includes: Dennis Ahn, Chloe Berglund, Kyle Diesta, Jenna Qui, Mikiya Takizawa, Mynie Olopai, Vaniqa Torres, Jacqlene Torres, Mika Camacho, Jedric Aniciete, Kimberly Buan, Gqanpil Son, Victoria Duhon, JinA Choi, Russel Yoon, En Ming Cacdac, Quincy Chinen, Langting Sizemore, and Erin Yoon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
