The Marianas Visitors Authority, PDM Promoters, Inc. and other travel partners will celebrate \u201cChristmas in the Marianas\u201d on consecutive Saturdays in December, offering weekly holiday entertainment for visitors and residents, alike.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs December is one of the busiest months for visitor arrivals, we are again going to spread out the holiday celebration throughout the month,\u201d said MVA Community Projects manager Martin Duenas. \u201cWe hope the community will make \u2018Christmas in the Marianas\u2019 part of their weekend plans in December, as we share the holiday spirit with our visitors.\u201d<\/p>\n
The celebration will kick off on Dec. 6 with the annual schoolwide Christmas Tree Decoration Competition at Paseo de Marianas in downtown Garapan. The trees, decorated with recyclable material, will remain on display at the pedestrian mall on Saipan\u2019s main tourist district throughout the month. On Dec. 13, students will sing their hearts out at the annual Christmas Caroling Competition on-stage at Paseo de Marianas. On Dec. 20, the Christmas Parade and Float and Costume Competition will be held.<\/p>\n
Students from several public and private schools are already getting into the holiday spirit with plans to participate: Garapan Elementary School, Golden Harvest International School, Grace Christian Academy, Green Meadow School, GTC Elementary School, Kagman Elementary School, Koblerville Elementary School, Oleai Elementary School, Northern Marianas International School, San Vicente Elementary School, WSR Elementary School, Cha Cha Ocean View Middle School, San Antonio Middle School, Tanapag Middle School, Kagman High School, and Saipan Southern High School.
