(Jon Perez)<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nEdgar Pangelinan sizzled from outside to lead Department of Community and Cultural Affairs to a 95-66 rout of Commonwealth Utilities Corp. in the final elimination round game of the 2014 DYS-IT&#038;E Inter-Government Basketball League Monday night at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.<\/p>\n<p>Pangelinan toyed with his defenders the entire game to finish with a season-high 41 points. He made all of DCCA\u2019s 7 3-pointers. He scored 22 of DCCA\u2019s 57 points in the second half, 13 of which came in the third as DCCA blew the game wide open.<\/p>\n<p>DCCA led from the opening tip and ended the first quarter with a 7-point lead, 17-10.  It was cruise control from thereon and with Pangelinan at the forefront of its offense, DCCA built a 38-24 halftime spread, its first of several double-digit leads.<\/p>\n<p>Perry Inos scattered 23 points to support Pangelinan\u2019s offensive onslaught, while Tim Wesley tallied 16 markers.<\/p>\n<p>Tony Diaz paced CUC\u2019s losing cause with his 20 points, while John Santos contributed 16 markers.<\/p>\n<p>It was DCCA\u2019s fourth win in six matches and it finished tied for third with Northern Marianas Sports Association, but the latter clinched the No. 3 spot based on the win-over-the-other rule.<\/p>\n<p>CUC ended the elimination round at sixth place with a 2-4 slate, which is the same record of Department of Public Safety. DPS won the tiebreak and the fifth spot after beating CUC, 74-57, last Nov. 14.<\/p>\n<p>Feds and Customs clinched the Top 2 spots with their similar 5-1 cards, but the former earned the No. 1 ranking after a 61-58 win over the latter last month. Commonwealth Health Center placed seventh with its 1-5 slate, posting its lone win against DPS, 62-57, last Nov. 5.<\/p>\n<p>The playoff round will start on Dec. 3. Organizers have yet to release the playoff format.<\/p>\n<p>DCCA 95 \u2013 Pangelinan 41, Inos 23, Wesley 16, Ro. Deleon Guerrero 6, Ra.
