Department of Public Works Secretary Martin Sablan is reminding all political parties and candidates of the Nov. 4 elections not to forget to also remove the rebars when they take out their political signs along the roads.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere already is an announcement that gave them so many days to remove the signs but I think it\u2019s important that the political parties also to please remove the rebar that are used to secure the signs because when we mow the lawn it damages our equipment,\u201d Sablan said.<\/p>\n
He said it\u2019s just a friendly reminder for candidates of the last general election. \u201cI know they\u2019ll do it. We just need to remind them.\u201d<\/p>\n
Earlier, the Saipan Zoning Office asked candidates to start taking down their political signs. <\/p>\n
Zoning said all candidates should take down their signs, except for the candidates for the gubernatorial runoff election\u2014NMI Republican Party\u2019s Gov. Eloy S. Inos and his running mate, Senate President Ralph DLG. Torres and independents, former speaker Heinz S. Hofschneider and former Senate floor leader Ray N. Yumul. <\/p>\n
