Governor-elect Ralph DLG Torres were overwhelmingly elected for a full four-year term after a contentious runoff election in the Commonwealth of Northern Marianas Islands by 1599 votes with around 1900 potential absentee votes yet to be counted.  <\/p>\n<p>Governor Inos stated the following \u201cRalph and I are so humbled by the outpouring of support by the citizens of the CNMI.  Our administration is committed to working for all the people of the CNMI as we identify and implement solutions to the challenges facing our beautiful islands.  We thank our supporters so much for their steadfast commitment to our campaign.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cRalph and I extend our hand to our opponents and say thank you.  You ran a great campaign and we welcome you and your supporters to join with us as we work towards keeping our Commonwealth moving in the right direction.\u201d Inos stated.<\/p>\n<p>Lt. Governor-elect Torres continued \u201cFrom the bottom of our hearts, Governor and I are so thankful for thousands of people that voted this election.
