Youth supporters of the Heinz Hofschneider-Ray Yumul gubernatorial team were disappointed with Friday\u2019s runoff election results. Some felt a question mark now hangs over their future.<\/p>\n
Yet despite the results, JP Indalecio said he remains a \u201cproud supporter\u201d of Hofschneider and Yumul. \u201cWe voted right,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Xavier Borja, returning from college in Guam, and Marie Camacho, from college in the U.S. mainland, said they are both unsure of \u201cwhat the future will hold\u201d for young adults like them.<\/p>\n
Camacho wonders how the winning GOP team would treat the youth that supported Hofschneider.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe didn\u2019t support them. But what is [Inos] going to do get our support and earn our trust?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n
Borja wants other supporters to know that they should \u201cface tomorrow with their chins up.\u201d \u201cDon\u2019t be ashamed,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
One supporter expressed regret that he did not register to vote because he was \u201cbusy with his job.\u201d Now, he just asks that the Inos-Torres team \u201cbe a better role-model for youth.\u201d He did not like some of the \u201cpolitics\u201d spun during the campaign.<\/p>\n
Another supporter but non-voter, AJ, from Tanapag Middle School, said he joined to support the Heinz-Yumul team with his family and looks forward to voting in the next few years.<\/p>\n
His friend, Masaki Kitami, 14, from Saipan International School, said he stopped by at the Heinz and Yumul headquarters to show support because he believed they would support his dad, Yoshihiro, who he said owns Mariana Resort and Spa. <\/p>\n
Another Heinz manhoben, Elsa, a recent graduate from the University of Guam, said the trend of young unregistered voters was an issue during the campaign season.
