Forget forking out that dollar to park at the Saipan International Airport\u2019s parking lot this December.<\/p>\n
Expiring on Nov. 30 is POI Aviation\u2019s parking management contract with the Commonwealth Ports Authority. Yesterday, the CPA board of directors chose to cancel the current bid in place for the parking booth.<\/p>\n
CPA executive director Maryann Lizama asked the board to cancel the bid, saying that based on the current proposal, the booth would operate at a \u201cprofit loss\u201d for CPA.<\/p>\n
She said that canceling the bid would \u201cbasically open up the public parking,\u201d with the exception of bus and taxi permits until further analysis was done.<\/p>\n
In an interview, Lizama confirmed that CPA would not be charging for public parking until further notice. She said CPA needs to do further financial analysis.<\/p>\n
