{"id":186111,"date":"2014-11-28T04:00:07","date_gmt":"2014-11-27T18:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=186111"},"modified":"2014-11-28T04:00:07","modified_gmt":"2014-11-27T18:00:07","slug":"rota-airport-need-tractor-grounds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/rota-airport-need-tractor-grounds\/","title":{"rendered":"Rota airport in need of tractor for grounds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Commonwealth Ports Authority board director Barrie Toves would like funding for a tractor to maintain grounds within and outside the perimeters of the Rota International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>Right now, he said parts of the airport\u2019s tractor are obsolete. He said insects in the tall grass cause birds to congregate in the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to be able to mitigate that. Our staff down there won\u2019t be able to do that if we don\u2019t have adequate equipment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, CPA\u2019s finance committee agreed to fund this tractor through a supplemental budget request after it was taken out of the proposed 2015 budget. The funding was not included in the $185,345 supplemental budget approved by the CPA board this week through surplus from CPA\u2019s airport gross revenue fund but the finance committee stated they would work on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Toves said Rota asked earlier that CPA\u2019s financing and accounting work with Rota to find three quotations and from there work toward a supplemental budget.
