\nIt was the frenzy after the feast early Friday morning as a plethora of Saipan residents flocked to \u201cI Love Saipan\u201d in Garapan just after midnight for its Black Friday sale.<\/p>\n\u201cI\u2019m just going to take whatever I find nice and put it in my basket and run right away!\u201d the first customer in line said. \u201cI also came to see some chaos.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another Black Friday shopper said she followed her sister to the store to block other shoppers from grabbing items she wanted. \u201cLast year I saved sixty bucks,\u201d she told Saipan Tribune.\u00a0<\/p>\n
One family of four even came with a strategy for when the doors opened. \u201cWe are going to run in there and I\u2019ll have my kids grab all the items they can see and get in line. After that, one of them will try it on to see if it fits, and then the others will block other people.\u201d<\/p>\n
The doors opened at 2am as customers pushed, shoved, and sprinted their way to the merchandise ranging from 30 to 70 percent off.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Within minutes, clothes were cleared off the store\u2019s shelves, hangers were on the ground, and the post dividing the lines had already been knocked down.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone is so excited and the bottom line is that they want to get to what they want to buy. Last year, we had a lot of people pushing and shoving each other and our employees,\u201d said Edward Duenas, I Love Saipan general manager. \u201cPreparation for this is yearlong.\u201d<\/p>\n
