Rota Resort is requesting a land-lease to secure space for an isotainer for fuel for international airplanes, according to Commonwealth Ports Authority board director Benigno Sablan at a meeting last week. CPA executive director Maryann Lizama was given the go by the board to work with the resort on the lease agreement.<\/p>\n
According to Lizama, the resort has been working with CPA\u2019s Engineering office to make sure all compliance issues are resolved. She said they would build their facility a safe distance away from the Rota Airport terminal because of the hazard of fuel. According to her, the resort wanted it closer to the terminal but CPA refused out of safety precautions.<\/p>\n
The facility as it is now is at \u201ca very safe distance,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Lizama reported no exact amount of the lease to the board, but simply asked for permission to continue to work with the resort until the lease is finalized.<\/p>\n
