{"id":186376,"date":"2014-12-02T04:00:23","date_gmt":"2014-12-01T18:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=186376"},"modified":"2014-12-02T04:00:23","modified_gmt":"2014-12-01T18:00:23","slug":"cpas-arrf-recognized-regionally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/cpas-arrf-recognized-regionally\/","title":{"rendered":"CPA\u2019s ARRF is recognized regionally"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the Western Pacific Islands Association of Fire Chiefs Conference in Palau in November, the Commonwealth Ports Authority was presented with a certificate of recognition for its support and partnership with the association, according to CPA executive director Maryann Lizama.<\/p>\n<p>At the conference, Lizama said CPA presented the project status of its Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Training Facility and its state-of-the-art functionality.<\/p>\n<p>CPA also proposed an expansion of the ARRF curriculum, to include trainings for other personnel operating within the airport\/airfield, she said.<\/p>\n<p>The certification of recognition was presented at CPA\u2019s last board meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The Pacific Region ARFF Training Center at Saipan International Airport was created to train all airport firefighters throughout the Micronesian Islands, according to CPA.<\/p>\n<p>ARFF offers basic firefighting and basic aircraft rescue courses, as well as fire leadership, emergency medical service, and hazardous materials and weapons of mass destruction response courses.<\/p>\n<p>According to CPA, ARRF\u2019s facility can train up to 30 firefighters.
