I was on my way to work today on my bike, in the bike lane, and a white truck came within about a foot of hitting me. It was terrifying! I have already been hit by a car once before while walking my bike through a crosswalk with flashing lights, and I am really cautious when I am out on the road.<\/p>\n
I would like to just ask drivers to please observe the law which says to give cyclists a three-foot clearance. Cyclists are completely defenseless against a 3-ton (or more) vehicle, and it would be a tragedy if one were hit. I worry about my friends on the road practicing for the upcoming Hell of the Marianas bike race this weekend and also for all the visiting cyclists from off island.<\/p>\n
Please be careful of cyclists and pedestrians and respect the three-foot law. Have a happy and safe holidays.<\/p>\n
