The second set of the History of the Northern Marianas Islands by Don Farrell is in the works and should be published around summer of next year, according to Education Commissioner Dr. Rita Sablan. Farrell\u2019s book has been widely used for years in the CNMI\u2019s public schools and this version will bring its history up to the present day.<\/p>\n
All the editorial work has been done on all the book\u2019s different chapters up to the modern era, but Farrell would like to now include the 2015 election, she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything is done except that [Farrel] would like to include the new government that is coming into office on Jan. 15,\u201d Sablan told CNMI Board of Education officials at a recent committee meeting.<\/p>\n
These additions would include the new administrative, judicial, and legislative branches as well as the first elected attorney general, according to the commissioner.<\/p>\n
The anticipated publication is in April 2015. The book should roll out before the summer or during summer, she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
