A man on federal probation after serving an 18-month prison term for involvement in a conspiracy to sell methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d tested presumptive positive for drug use last month, according to court documents.<\/p>\n
U.S. Probation Officer Gregory F. Arriola informed the U.S. District Court for the NMI yesterday that Jordan Mendiola Reyes tested presumptive positive for use of \u201cice\u201d while submitting to a random drug test last Nov. 13.<\/p>\n
Arriola said that when confronted with the results, Reyes admitted in writing that he used the drug on Nov. 12.<\/p>\n
Arriola said Reyes reported to the U.S. Probation Office as instructed for a probation non-compliance meeting, and confirmed that he used \u201cice\u201d last Nov. 12 due to personal issues.<\/p>\n
The probation officer said Reyes was admonished for his behavior and given guidance on other ways to deal with his stress.<\/p>\n
Arriola told Reyes that drug testing will increase to five tests per month.<\/p>\n
Arriola recommended no court action, but stated that Reyes will be closely monitored.<\/p>\n
In May 2013, U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramon V. Manglona sentenced Reyes to 18 months in prison and a three-year supervised release. <\/p>\n
A federal grand jury indicted Reyes in August 2012 with one count of conspiracy to distribute \u201cice\u201d and two counts of distribution of \u201cice.\u201d<\/p>\n
After the indictment was filed, authorities arrested Reyes in Tacoma, Washington and then brought him to Saipan.<\/p>\n
