{"id":187710,"date":"2014-12-19T04:00:55","date_gmt":"2014-12-18T18:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=187710"},"modified":"2014-12-19T04:00:55","modified_gmt":"2014-12-18T18:00:55","slug":"h-visa-cap-exemption-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/h-visa-cap-exemption-extended\/","title":{"rendered":"H visa cap exemption extended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Consolidated Natural Resources Act of 2008, Public Law 110-229, included a provision that exempted H-1B and H-2B nonimmigrant workers performing temporary labor or services in the CNMI and Guam from the congressionally-mandated H-1B and H-2B annual numerical limitations (the \u201ccaps\u201d) from Nov. 28, 2009, to Dec. 31, 2014.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The enactment into law of the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2015 (H.R. 83) extends this cap exemption for five years until Dec. 31, 2019.
