The Jonny\u2019s Crazy 8 is the only team standing on Jokers IT&E Voyagers\u2019 way to the title victory in the Budweiser Cup Tuesday 8-Ball Billiards League, which ends tonight at Jonny\u2019s Bar in Garapan.<\/p>\n
The Crazy 8 will be hosting the Voyagers, the regular season champions, as both teams clinched the finals berths after dispatching their respective semis opponents in last week\u2019s matches held at various bars on Saipan.<\/p>\n
The Voyagers pulled off a 9-6 win over sister team Jokers Str8 Shooters, while the Crazy 8 edged Smoke Pub Sang&D\u2019Gang, 9-7, in a pair of Final Four race-to-9 contests.<\/p>\n
Mark Butac sealed the win for the Voyagers after beating Chester Cuento in the singles 8-ball event.<\/p>\n
Nolan Cultura kept the Str8 Shooters in the match when he defeated the Voyagers\u2019 Brian Nelvis to move within two, 6-8, but that proved to be their final stand as luck sided with Butac in his match-up with Cuento.<\/p>\n
In the Crazy 8-Sang&D\u2019Gang match, Rey Pinangay gave the Jonny\u2019s crew the victory when he defeated Tom Muna.<\/p>\n
The Smoke Pub-backed squad threatened at 7-8 after Fuanny Kelulau\u2019s conquering of Warlee Ellama, but Muna could not force a rubber match as he succumbed to Pinangay in the next match.<\/p>\n
The Voyagers scored a 9-8 upset win over the top-ranked Saipan TV Hustlers to clinch a semis berth.<\/p>\n
Jokers IT&E finished second to Saipan TV after the elimination round with the Voyagers compiling a 150-75 slate against the Hustlers\u2019 151-74 slate.<\/p>\n
The Voyagers defeated the Hustlers in the regular season finals with Butac, Brian Nelvis, and R.J. Mascarinas delivering the wins in the race-to-9 contest, while the Shooters earned third place honors after beating Jonny\u2019s Crazy 8.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
