The newest toy store on Saipan, Lil\u2019 Expressions, has moved from Gualo Rai to Dandan, according to its owner, Jenny Deleon Guerrero.<\/p>\n
She said the move had to be made after its previous location, in front of the golf driving range, is being developed into a low-income housing project by Ironwood Saipan.<\/p>\n
Deleon Guerrero said Lil\u2019 Expressions is now located at the RJ Plaza Building in Dandan, right across Joeten Shopping Center and the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. main office. <\/p>\n
Lil\u2019 Expressions had been open for a year before shuttering its doors for the relocation in July. It opened its new Dandan location (the former Konbetsa Caf\u00e9) on Dec. 6 by offering 15-percent off on selected merchandise.<\/p>\n
Deleon Guerrero said what sets Lil\u2019 Expressions apart from other toy stores on island is the personal touch she provides to all customers.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have loyal customers already because I really make an effort get to know their kids and what they\u2019re interested in. When they come in I already know the names of their kids and know what their tastes are,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Among the hot-selling toys for girls at Lil\u2019 Expressions are Sophia the First, Ever After High, and new lines of Monster High, while the toy store\u2019s lineup for boys include Imaginex, Mega Blocks, Matchbox, and Star Wars light sabers, among others.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have more toys for girls because toys for boys require a lot of batteries and I don\u2019t really want to carry those kind of toys like remote-controlled cars. Look at how much batteries cost! It costs a lot and they don\u2019t last long,\u201d said Deleon Guerrero. <\/p>\n
She said she opened Lil\u2019 Expressions because toys are her passion and wanted island residents to have a more affordable alternative to bigger toy retailers on Saipan.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy stuff is going really fast so I encourage those doing their last minute shopping for toys to come by my store,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Lil\u2019 Expressions is open Wednesdays, Thursday, and Fridays from 4pm to 9pm and Saturday from 10am to 6pm. Deleon Guerrero, however, said that store hours might be longer the last couple of days before Christmas.
