(Contributed Photo)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>The US Coast Guard recently issued Workforce Investment Agency participants from Tinian their five-year Merchant Mariner Credential to operate uninspected passenger vessels as defined in 46 U.S.C. 2101 (42)(B) upon near coastal water not more than 100 miles offshore.<\/p>\n<p>WIA participants were involved in a 56-hour rigorous course with an approved service provider and are required to sit for the examination. Upon passing, participants are allowed a year from completing the course to satisfy other USCG application requirements for licensure.<\/p>\n<p>DOL-WIA Division and the entire Department of Labor are very proud of their accomplishments and congratulate its participants as they move forward with their careers.<\/p>\n<p>This is only one of many career training programs under the DOL-Workforce Investment Agency Division.
