In October and November, the Federated States of Micronesia received notification from the U.S. Department of the Interior, Office of Insular Affairs, that fiscal year 2015 Compact sector grant awards totaling $58,106,384 for the FSM states and College of Micronesia-FSM had been obligated.<\/p>\n

This amount is in addition to the fiscal year 2014 obligations for the Supplementary Education Grant, which totals $11,121,580, and the Chuuk Measles Outbreak Grant of $356,233, both to be used during fiscal year 2015.<\/p>\n
The Carry-over Grant awards for 2015 include such projects as rehabilitation of the Chuuk Gymnasium for use by the high school, assisting Kosrae\u2019s efforts to develop appropriate electronic waste disposal systems, developing community sports programs to reduce non-communicable diseases in Pohnpei, and creating a Tourism Survey and Data Collection System in Yap.<\/p>\n
An additional $24 million was added to the Infrastructure fund, which has a balance of $126 million.<\/p>\n
The U. S. Department of the Interior, Office of Insular Affairs also makes an annual payment to the FSM\u2019s Compact Trust Fund. This year the payment amount was $26,976,960 bringing the current value of the trust fund to over $400 million.
