(Walter Sutherland)\" width=\"100\" height=\"69\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0Fielders 2 grinded out a pair of wins in its doubleheader on Saturday as the Saipan Major League Baseball Association&#8217;s Youth Summer\/Fall season picked back up at the Francisco \u201cTan Ko\u201d Palacios Ballfield.<\/p>\n<p>Fielders 2 edged out Titanium, 2-1, in the opener and went on to rally over sister team Fielders 1, 4-3, in the afternoon tiff.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, due to a shortage of players the Kagman Lions were forced to forfeit the second matchup to the Ol&#8217;Aces, however, the Lions are expected to recruit more players to help them compete this week.<\/p>\n<p>Weather permitting, the season continues at Tan Ko field this Saturday; starting off with a 9am rematch featuring Fielders 2 and Titanium followed by a take-two between Ol&#8217;Aces and Kagman Lions at 11:30am. Then it is Titanium&#8217;s turn to pull double duty as they clash with Fielders 1 at 2pm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fielders 2 2, Titanium 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After a pair of scoreless innings, visiting Titanium broke the ice in the top of the third inning with a run off two hits.<\/p>\n<p>Ton Guerrero reached on a one-out single. He then stole second base and was driven home by Jerald Cabrera.<\/p>\n<p>Fielders 2 drew a blank in the bottom frame and both teams went 1-2-3 in the fourth inning.<\/p>\n<p>Titanium was stuffed again to start the fifth inning and Fielders 2 pulled ahead in the bottom of the frame, 2-1.<\/p>\n<p>Kyle Hocog led off with a base knock and was sacrificed into scoring position. Kainoa Wanket brought him home with a single and later scored himself off an error.<\/p>\n<p>Titanium went three up and three down for the third time in a row in the sixth inning and was denied access past second base in its final stand.<\/p>\n<p>Kainoa Wanket gave up an earned run in four innings off three hits and a strikeout.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nFielders 2 4, Fielders 1 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Both teams held each other in check until the fifth inning when the home team, Fielders 1 took a 2-0 lead off three hits.<\/p>\n<p>Carl Camacho provided the spark with a lead off single. Arthur Jebehn followed suit with a double; Camacho advanced to the plate off an errant throw from the outfield.<\/p>\n<p>Jebehn would score soon after off a wild pitch.<\/p>\n<p>Fielders 2 answered in the top of the sixth knotted the game at 2-all.<\/p>\n<p>Khobby Kaipat reached on a fielder&#8217;s choice and moved into scoring position when Ian Rogolifoi drew a free pass.<\/p>\n<p>Fielders 2 then worked a double-steal that set up a two-RBI single by Marvin Ngeskebei.<\/p>\n<p>Fielders 1 did not blink and reclaimed the lead, 3-2, off errors in the bottom frame. However, its rival fired back with two runs in the top of the seventh inning.<\/p>\n<p>Davin Ada belted a one-out single and went to second after an ensuing walk.<\/p>\n<p>Then ninth batter Nate Guerrero crushed a clutch two-RBI single, but was left stranded at third base.<\/p>\n<p>Fielders 1 came up lame in its final stand.<\/p>\n<p>Winning pitcher Kainoa Wanket pitched four scoreless innings and gave up three hits with a strikeout.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Walter J.
