Mount Carmel School president Galvin Deleon Guerrero told Saipan Tribune that Catholic Schools Week is the \u201cbusiest week of the year\u201d for the school as students will be participating in a myriad of activities.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On Sunday, a Mass hosted by Mount Carmel School students will kick off the celebration, followed by community service activities on Monday, and honoring the school\u2019s Teacher of the Year on Tuesday. The sole Catholic educational institution on Saipan will also honor servicemen as well as name the Distinguished AlumKnight of the Year at the annual \u201cNight with the Knights\u201d event at the end of next week.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Guerrero explained the importance of the week for Catholic schools and said that the school aims to educate the whole child to see with Christ\u2019s eyes.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to help students develop as well-rounded people that are not just academically good but also socially, spiritually, personally, and morally [good],\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Eskuelan San Francisco de Borja on Rota and the Sister Remedios Early Childhood Development Center will also join MCS in the celebration.<\/p>\n
Sister Remedios principal and MCS alumna Bernardita Seman said the school is honored to participate in the weeklong celebration. \u201cWe have been always supportive of Catholic education and are excited to take part again,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
