{"id":190725,"date":"2015-01-30T04:00:25","date_gmt":"2015-01-29T18:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=190725"},"modified":"2015-01-30T04:00:25","modified_gmt":"2015-01-29T18:00:25","slug":"clearance-needed-two-new-backhoes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/clearance-needed-two-new-backhoes\/","title":{"rendered":"Clearance needed for two new backhoes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The two backhoes the Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office received last Friday still requires clearance before they could be used, according to special adviser Henry Hofschneider.<\/p>\n<p>He said the clearance requires paying for the shipping of the heavy equipment. The two backhoes were shipped from Long Beach, California at a cost of $23,025.<\/p>\n<p>Both backhoes arrived on the evening of Jan. 23, 2015.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cWe have not cleared it yet so it is still at the Commonwealth Ports Authority property in Puerto Rico and we still need to clear the shipping bill,\u201d Hofschneider said.<\/p>\n<p>The equipment will be used for clearing of secondary roads.<\/p>\n<p>Once the backhoes are cleared and released to the mayor\u2019s office, it will then be up to the operations division and Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang to decide on which specific projects will worked on at once.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll look at all the requests that came in first.
