{"id":191106,"date":"2015-02-05T04:00:27","date_gmt":"2015-02-04T18:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=191106"},"modified":"2015-02-05T04:00:27","modified_gmt":"2015-02-04T18:00:27","slug":"co-op-hopes-first-general-membership-meeting-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/co-op-hopes-first-general-membership-meeting-month\/","title":{"rendered":"Co-op hopes to have first general membership meeting this month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Farmer\u2019s Cooperative is still working to get together for its first general membership meeting since it opened the Garapan Public Market in August.<\/p>\n<p>According to co-op secretary Isidoro Cabrera yesterday, once their president Maria \u201cFrica\u201d Pangelinan sets down an agenda they will set a date and proceed with the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHopefully this month,\u201d Cabrera said when asked for the date of the meeting. They do not want to wait until March, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, an election of new board members was reported to be on the agenda for their first meeting, according to co-op officials. It was reported that only Cabrera, treasurer Ignacio Concepcion, and Pangelinan were active in the market.<\/p>\n<p>It was also reported by co-op officials and Pangelinan herself that she may step down as president. She would stay on as consultant, according to Cabrera earlier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can still help and advise. My heart is in this. We just need cooperation,\u201d Pangelinan had said.<\/p>\n<p>In related news, Sabalu Market, seen as the public market\u2019s competitor, has lost their board president, Calistro Reyes, after he stepped down recently.<\/p>\n<p>To this, Cabrera said yesterday that they would \u201cjust wait and see\u201d how things would go with the Sabalu Market.
