Apatang said yesterday his office has two teams that will be picking up strays, particularly in villages that have a high number of complaints of roaming dogs. One team will work on the north side of Saipan while the other will be on the south side.<\/p>\n<p>The operation will last from this month until May.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur staff will be doing the stray dog removal on each village for almost a week on all these villages so I urge the public to please tie your dogs because it is the law,\u201d Apatang said.<\/p>\n<p>He said this is in response to complaints of recent attacks by stray dogs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve had a lot of complaints and it is all over the islands and we will concentrate on addressing the community\u2019s concerns,\u201d Apatang said.<\/p>\n<p>From Feb. 9 to 20, the mayor\u2019s team will visit Dandan and Garapan, followed by Koblerville and China Town from Feb. 23 to 26; San Antonio and Navy Hill from March 9 to 20; Chalan Kanoa and Puerto Rico from March 23 to April 3; Susupe and Tanapag from April 6 to April 17; San Jose and San Roque from April 20 to May 1; and Chalan Kiya and As Matuis from May 4 to May 15.<\/p>\n<p>Based on a survey conducted by Humane Society International, these villages have high dog populations.
