The federal court has ordered Dental Care and its owners to pay $130,000 in damages that a jury awarded to their former dentist, Dr. Masha Maxim, who filed a lawsuit over her termination.<\/p>\n
U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona, however, also ordered Maxim to pay one of the clinic\u2019s owners, Scott Thompson, $62,000 that the same jury found her liable for slapping him.<\/p>\n
As the parties agreed, Manglona said the $130,000 should be offset by the $62,000 judgment.<\/p>\n
Manglona said the remaining balance on the judgment in favor of Dr. Maxim, with interest as of Oct. 23, 2014, should be $68,239.22.<\/p>\n
The judge ordered Dental Care, Thompson, and Rod Stewart to pay the amount in four equal payments, through Maxim\u2019s counsel Steven Nutting\u2019s client trust account.<\/p>\n
The defendants agreed to pay Dr. Maxim $17,059.80 on Feb. 13, Aug. 14, and Nov. 15 in 2014; and on Feb. 12, 2016.<\/p>\n
The trial was held in August 2011. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the verdict.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
