{"id":191624,"date":"2015-02-12T04:00:44","date_gmt":"2015-02-11T18:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=191624"},"modified":"2015-02-12T04:00:44","modified_gmt":"2015-02-11T18:00:44","slug":"tinian-mayor-working-cip-military-island-infrastructure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/tinian-mayor-working-cip-military-island-infrastructure\/","title":{"rendered":"Tinian mayor working with CIP, military on island infrastructure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tinian and Aguiguan Mayor Joey Patrick San Nicholas said his office is working with the Capital Improvement Projects Office and the U.S. military as they plan out the overall infrastructure development for the island.<\/p>\n<p>San Nicholas said they are nearly done with going over the office\u2019s financials and inventory of the different facilities and equipment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom there we have very ambitious plans. Infrastructure is a top priority for us. So we\u2019re working closely with CIP and the military as we develop our overall infrastructure development,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>San Nicholas said they are also working on having direct flights to Tinian, which means working on getting the Tinian airport ready.<\/p>\n<p>He said they also putting in place all Tinian resident department heads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of the resident department heads [on] Tinian have been appointed so we\u2019re in the process of them being heard and hopefully confirmed by the Tinian Municipal Council,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am also working closely with the leadership in identifying issues in education, the infrastructure, and the budget.
