Local TV news program KSPN 2 reported, though, that Sea Touch will be open to the public this Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>In November of last year, the administration of Gov. Eloy S. Inos gave the go-signal for Sea Touch Saipan LLC to build a $1.125-million shark and stingray marine park project at the beachfront of Fiesta Resort &#038; Spa Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>Baldyga Group, which operates SandCastle at the Hyatt Regency Saipan, owns Sea Touch and has reportedly spent $275,000 for the project.<\/p>\n<p>The Sea Touch agreement is a landmark deal since it is the first time the CNMI leased its submerged lands after President Barrack Obama reconveyed its 3-mile submerged lands back to the islands in 2013<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Joseph Lee Pan Guerrero (R-Saipan) said in an interview that he wants to see more projects like Sea Touch to be established in the Commonwealth in the hopes of drawing in more tourists.<\/p>\n<p>The lawmaker said he is set to meet with officials of the Marianas Visitors Authority to know more of the tourism body\u2019s plans for the rest of the year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just want to sit down with them [MVA officials] and see what they plan to do,\u201d Guerrero said, noting that he also wants to give recommendations to the tourism board.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting with the MVA is set for Feb. 20 on Capital Hill. <strong>(Joel D.
