The CNMI\u2019s four-term delegate to Congress will undergo back surgery on March 2.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Sablan said he will \u201cbe in recovery for about two months\u201d after the operation.<\/p>\n<p>Sablan said he has been shuttling back and forth between the Commonwealth and Washington, D.C. in the last six year and that took a heavy toll on his back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese last six years in the U.S. Congress have been filled with success, but they have also been hard on my health,\u201d Sablan said. \u201cNow the doctors tell me that my only choice is surgery to fuse some of the vertebrae in my lower back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sablan said the operation will be at George Washington Hospital in Washington, D.C.
