{"id":192528,"date":"2015-02-25T04:00:37","date_gmt":"2015-02-24T18:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=192528"},"modified":"2015-02-25T04:00:37","modified_gmt":"2015-02-24T18:00:37","slug":"muna-clarifies-board-meeting-issue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/muna-clarifies-board-meeting-issue\/","title":{"rendered":"Mu\u00f1a clarifies board meeting issue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. board has not had any meetings since May last year.<\/p>\n<p>CHCC chief executive officer Esther Mu\u00f1a clarified, though, that even though meetings have not been held, she had communicated with board members, especially board chair Joaquin Torres.<\/p>\n<p>Muna said that Public Law 16-51 states that \u00abthe CEO [has the power] to convene from time to time as the CEO determines necessary and appropriate meetings of the board.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTorres is definitely free to request that I convene a meeting but I haven\u203at been requested that at all,\u201d Mu\u00f1a said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe acknowledge that an effective advisory board can be helpful to the organization. An advisory board, however, cannot be effective if they are micromanaging or demanding they get and keep an office so they become part of management.
