The program will support programs that help families raise their children from birth to 5 years to become physically, socially and emotionally healthy and ready to learn. The funds awarded will help develop home visiting programs to improve child health and prevent child abuse and neglect. The program will also help to encourage positive parenting and promote child development that will prepare children for school.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis grant will provide DPHSS with funds to help improve child health and encourage positive parenting on Guam,\u201d said Delegate Madeleine Z. Bordallo. \u201cI supported legislation that extended funding for this program, which has been important to promoting the health and wellbeing of children on Guam.
