{"id":192929,"date":"2015-03-03T04:00:51","date_gmt":"2015-03-02T18:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=192929"},"modified":"2015-03-03T04:00:51","modified_gmt":"2015-03-02T18:00:51","slug":"nmc-adopts-8-4-million-budget-request","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/nmc-adopts-8-4-million-budget-request\/","title":{"rendered":"NMC adopts $8.4 million budget request"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Northern Marianas College adopted a budget appropriations request to the tune of $8.4 million, ahead of Friday\u2019s deadline before the close of business.<\/p>\n<p>The $8.4 million for appropriations includes funding primarily for personnel, according to chief financial officer Tracy Guerrero, who presented the budget to the board on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, $6.8 million is for current and vacant full-time equivalent positions, as well as federally funded positions the college anticipates will need funding as grants expire.<\/p>\n<p>They also requested five FTEs to be reinstated for funding in the budget, she indicated.<\/p>\n<p>Adjunct and overload costs will be added in for the first time this year.
