Babauta, an ex-convict on probation who was arrested in August last year for not complying with his supervision conditions.<br \/>\nAt a revocation sentencing hearing on Friday, U.S. District Court for the NMI designated judge David O. Carter placed Babauta on 52 months of supervised release.<br \/>\nCarter ordered Babauta to return to court for a status conference on Aug. 25, 2015, to follow up on how he is doing with his supervised release.<br \/>\nAmong the conditions set for Babauta\u2019s supervised release is for him to be subjected to a maximum of eight drug tests per month. He is prohibited from possessing and using any controlled substance and from drinking any alcoholic beverages.<br \/>\nThe judge also required Babauta to participate in the home detention component of the location-monitoring program for a period of six months.<\/p>\n<p>Babauta appeared with his court-appointed counsel, Michael Dotts. Assistant U.S. attorney Russell Lorfing represented the U.S. government.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Probation Office sought the revocation of Babauta\u2019s supervised release.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. probation officer Gregory Arriola informed the court that Babauta submitted a diluted urine sample during a random drug test on July 14, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Babauta also failed to appear for counseling sessions on July 29, Aug. 2, Aug. 5, Aug. 6, and Aug. 7, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Arriola disclosed that Babauta did not appear for random drug testing on Aug. 3, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Babauta also allegedly failed to follow the instructions of the probation officer by not submitting a monthly supervision report within the first week of August 2014 and not reporting to the U.S. Probation Office as directed.<\/p>\n<p>Babauta admitted to the violations.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2014, the federal court revoked Babauta\u2019s supervised release and slapped him with a six-month prison term for using illegal drugs and violating other terms of his probation.<\/p>\n<p>The federal court also ordered that after completing his prison term, Babauta would be placed on supervised release for 54 months.<\/p>\n<p>Babauta was among seven prisoners who staged a 14-hour hostage drama at the Department of Corrections in Susupe in March 2009. At the time, he was serving a prison term for involuntary manslaughter for the killing of a Bangladeshi national in Chalan Kanoa.<\/p>\n<p>In August 1999, the federal court slapped Babauta with 180-month prison sentence and five years of supervised release, for hostage taking and felon in possession of a firearm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The federal court has imposed a time-served sentence on Ryan T.
