Medics brought her to the Commonwealth Health Center\u2019s emergency room.<\/p>\n<p>Marcil Barao, 50, was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace. His bail was set yesterday at $20,000 cash. Preliminary hearing is on March 10.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant public defender Matthew Meyer was appointed as counsel for Barao. Assistant attorney general Emily Cohen appeared for the government.<\/p>\n<p>Police detective Nicholas A. Rabauliman stated in his report that Barao and his girlfriend had been drinking at their neighbor\u2019s house in Kagman I on Sunday. Barao allegedly got mad when the victim said they needed to go home as he was already drunk.<\/p>\n<p>Once they arrived home, Barao allegedly slapped and punched the victim in the face. He also allegedly hit her with the Hawaiian sling on the head, causing her to fall.<\/p>\n<p>Barao then ran away when he learned the police had been called. Their neighbors then called the medics.<\/p>\n<p>A police officer later found Barao sitting on the ground inside an abandoned house located in the bushy area behind their house.
