{"id":193129,"date":"2015-03-04T04:00:23","date_gmt":"2015-03-03T18:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=193129"},"modified":"2015-03-04T04:00:23","modified_gmt":"2015-03-03T18:00:23","slug":"man-gravely-hurt-hit-truck","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/man-gravely-hurt-hit-truck\/","title":{"rendered":"Man gravely hurt after being hit by truck"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man is now in serious condition after a pickup truck being driven by an alleged intoxicated man hit him as he was crossing Isa Drive in San Vicente on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p>Manuel Quitano Camacho, 49, sustained several fractured ribs and blood clots in the lungs and brain, police said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Department of Public Safety spokesman Travis Hurst said the driver, Rainaldo Santos Agulto, 51, was arrested for driving under the influence.<\/p>\n<p>Hurst said that, on Saturday at 8pm, DPS Dispatch was notified about an automobile crash that occurred along Isa Drive in front of the Mobil gas station\/Ace Hardware building in San Vicente.<\/p>\n<p>Hurst said investigation showed that Camacho was crossing the street when a blue 1987 Toyota Hilux 4X2 pickup traveling north on the inner lane struck him.<\/p>\n<p>Hurst said Camacho did not use the designated crosswalk and was crossing in an area with very poor lighting.<\/p>\n<p>Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene and brought Camacho to the Commonwealth Health Center for treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Traffic officers detected the odor of alcohol on the driver, Agulto, and did a DUI investigation on him.<\/p>\n<p>Agulto was then arrested after he allegedly registered a blood alcohol concentration of .167 percent.
