{"id":193241,"date":"2015-03-05T04:00:28","date_gmt":"2015-03-04T18:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=193241"},"modified":"2015-03-05T04:00:28","modified_gmt":"2015-03-04T18:00:28","slug":"small-craft-warned-rough-seas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/small-craft-warned-rough-seas\/","title":{"rendered":"Small craft warned of rough seas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fresh to strong winds with a trade-wind surge will generate large swells hazardous to small craft in the Marianas waters until this afternoon, Thursday, March 5, according to the CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management.<\/p>\n<p>The National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, has also issued a small craft advisory, which is in effect until 6pm today.<\/p>\n<p>East-northeast winds of 20 to 25 knots with higher gusts in showers are projected through this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Seas will remain near 8 to 10 feet and then diminish slightly today.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the public, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in these conditions and should avoid shoaling areas.
