Seventh-Day Adventist Clinic is offering a new 3D imaging solution machine to help its staff quickly diagnose complex problems. The new device is called the i-CAT FLX.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis technology is one-of-a-kind here on Saipan. With this machine we can actually create a 3D image and actually look at hard tissue, teeth, bones, soft tissue of the face, and the head or neck,\u201d SDA clinic director Dr. Kenneth Pierson said.<\/p>\n

He said 3D i-CAT FLX delivers greater clarity, ease of use, and control.<\/p>\n

These include visual iQuity image technology, QuickScan+ allows for a full-dentition 3D scan at a lower dose than a panoramic image, SmartScan STUDIO\u2019s touch screen interface and integrated system yielding more control, and etc.<\/p>\n

Pierson noted that aside from Saipan, Guam has the equipment as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can do an analysis if we wanted to do orthodontics such as moving the teeth, or placing implants, airway analysis, and others. Its kind of the latest and greatest technology for SDA,\u201d Pierson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe only have one, but when we use it we can view it in all our computers,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Alan Young, field services manager of i-CAT, trained SDA employees on Sunday on how to use the machine. According to him, they have about 4,000 installations internationally.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is our 10th year anniversary for the i-CAT technology and the one that was offered to SDA is the third generation,\u201d Young said.<\/p>\n

Pierson said the machine allows SDA to scan any areas in the mouth to find out whether a patient needs surgery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
