Eloy S. Inos.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, Gonzales officially stepped down after turning in his resignation letter to JKPL Library board chair Mark Rabauliman.<\/p>\n<p>Inos in a statement said he and Lt. Gov. Ralph DLG Torres \u201cacknowledge and recognize the library staff\u2019s disappointment in the library\u2019s leadership and their hope for change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe recognize Mr. Gonzales\u2019 service, and we encourage the library staff to continue setting exceptional service benchmarks for our children, stakeholders, and the general public,\u201d Inos said.<\/p>\n<p>The governor said Gonzales \u201cshould be commended not only for his tenure at the library but his community contributions through the Marianas Alliance of Non-Governmental Organization and various services representing the CNMI throughout the Pacific region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile it was unfortunate that a hostile working environment existed at the library between Gonzales and the library staff, the administration is keen on the continuation of the library\u2019s services to the public through the library staff\u2019s dedication and under new leadership,\u201d Inos said.<\/p>\n<p>Gonzales\u2019 resignation comes almost a month after JKPL staff walked out on him complaining of a \u201cclimate of fear\u201d at the library, forcing the hand of library board members to resolve the conflict.<\/p>\n<p>JKPL\u2019s Children Library associate Erlinda Naputi will be the acting executive director in Gonzales\u2019 stead.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The hostile working environment at the Joeten Kiyu Public Library between library staff and its&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":49,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[3013,412,2574,2125],"class_list":["post-194175","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news","tag-inos-hostile","tag-jkpl","tag-john-oliver-gonzales","tag-mark-rabauliman"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/194175","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/49"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=194175"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/194175\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=194175"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=194175"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=194175"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
