Thousands are expected to join the 29th Annual Red Cross Walkathon tomorrow beginning at 6am at the 4H Building in Susupe.<\/p>\n
This year, shirt colors have changed to green to support the military and participants can join three different walks; 10K, 5K, and 2K. This year\u2019s theme is \u201cWalk for the Red.\u201d<\/p>\n
There will be additional activities and prizes for participants to enjoy this year. Activities include balloons, a bounce house, face painting, a petting zoo, and many more. There will also be free blood pressure and blood sugar testing as well as immunizations.<\/p>\n
Prizes include water park passes, gift certificates from McDonald\u2019s, BLU Tank 4.5 smartphone, Kindle Fire HDX, Athlete\u2019s Foot\/All Star sports equipment, 25,000 United Miles, eye exams, and many more.<\/p>\n
Participants who raise at least $75 will be able to receive a Pacific Islands Club Waterpark pass, $5 gift card from Subway, Regal\/Hollywood Theater tickets, and a McDonald\u2019s gift certificate.<\/p>\n
Those who raise $20 will receive a T-shirt, giveaways, and free refreshments provided by Coke, Subway, and Foremost.<\/p>\n
The Red Cross will also include 20 health fair participants. These participants are: Public School System, Northern Marianas College-CREES-Aquaculture, Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority, Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, Commonwealth Utilities Corp., Ayuda Network, Let\u2019s Move Marianas, Commonwealth Diabetes Coalition, Commonwealth Cancer Association, Family Violence Task Force, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, NMPASI, CAMI, PSS Head Start, Council on Developmental Disabilities, Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, Hardt Eye Clinic, Get Fit CNMI, NMC Nursing students, Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.-H.O.M.E\/Immunization, MINA, NMC-CDI\u2019s Health area, ARC Health and Safety, Coke, Subway, Foremost, and Marpac.<\/p>\n
ARC executive director John Hirsh earlier invited the community to join in the 29th Annual Red Cross Walkathon and support the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter\u2019s humanitarian mission.<\/p>\n
