Leina Kim collected her fifth Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women\u2019s Golfer of the Week award despite falling short of claiming the title in last week\u2019s Midwestern State Invitational.<\/p>\n

Kim, according to the Colorado State University-Pueblo Lady ThunderWolves website, finished second in the Midwestern State Invitational after enjoying the opening round lead.<\/p>\n

Leina Kim fell short in her title bid in last week\u2019s Midwestern State Invitational but earned her fifth Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week honor. (CSU-Pueblo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

She ended up tied for 10th with University of Missouri-St. Louis\u2019s Joana Yanez in the Las Vegas Desert Classic, the Lady ThunderWolves\u2019 first tournament in RMAC\u2019s 2014-2015 spring season, with a 36-hole tally of 13-over 157.<\/p>\n

The CSU-Pueblo junior bounced back at the Midwestern State Invitational where she kicked off her title bid with a 1-under 71 to join West Texas A&M University Buffaloes bet Whitlee Woods atop the standings.<\/p>\n

But she limped with a 9-over 81 against the par-72, 5,843-yard layout at Wichita Falls Country Club in Wichita Falls, Texas to drop to second place with a final tally of 152 to lose the individual crown by one stroke to West Texas\u2019s Glory Jangthongsir.<\/p>\n

Kim, despite the loss, recorded the tournament\u2019s best scoring average on par-4 holes with 4.10 and posted seven birdies, the most in the event.<\/p>\n

It was Kim\u2019s fifth weekly conference honor giving the Lady ThunderWolves a record sixth award this season. CSU-Pueblo senior Julie Sanchez earned the accolade on Oct. 2.<\/p>\n

Kim topped four of the five events on the RMAC calendar to bag for Golfer of the Week honors.<\/p>\n

She ruled the Samuel Proa Insurance Lady Wolf Pack Invitational, West Texas A&M Lady Buff Invitational, Colorado Christian Invitational, and the Mustang Women\u2019s Fall Intercollegiate last year.<\/p>\n

Kim also ended up tied for third place in the RMAC #2 Tournament along with Sanchez and Cha Cha Willhoite of the Metro State University Roadrunners.<\/p>\n

The Lady ThunderWolves continue their title campaign when they play at the Mustang Intercollegiate set on April 3 and 4 in Goodyear, Arizona.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
