Saipan Community School earlier this month feted the winners of the institution\u2019s Science Fair during the school\u2019s Friday morning chapel time.<\/p>\n

The overall winners were 7th grader Kate Ishida for the junior high division and 5th grader Hyeonbin Jeong in the elementary division.<\/p>\n

Ishida won for her science project involving artificial reefs, while Jeong topped the division with a \u201cMoneywise Consumers\u201d science project.<\/p>\n

SCS principal Bobby Winfield also thanked Subway for sponsoring this year\u2019s Science Fair.<\/p>\n

The rest of the class winners and their science project topics are as follows:<\/p>\n

3RD GRADE<\/strong>
\nHans Xu (1st Place) – Plant Growth
\nCamille Sablan (2nd Place) – Plant Growth in Sunlight and Artificial Light
\nDerick Kwon (3rd Place) – Big Seeds vs. Small Seeds<\/p>\n

4TH GRADE<\/strong>
\nHuiwon Jeong (1st Place) – The Sinking of the Paper Titanic
\nMichelle Ryu (2nd Place) – Potato Pimble Problem
\nCloie Seo (3rd Place) – It\u2019s So Dirty!<\/p>\n

5TH GRADE<\/strong>
\nHyeonbin Jeong (1st Place) – Moneywise Consumers
\nSeung Jin Paik (2nd Place) – Memories
\nKevin Liang (3rd Place) – Which sound affects dogs most?<\/p>\n

6TH GRADE<\/strong>
\nMark Nam (1st Place) – Homopolar Motor
\n Jason Sablan (2nd Place) – Best Soda Cooling Method
\nMaxine Rabago (3rd Place) – Liquid Evaporation<\/p>\n

7TH GRADE<\/strong>
\nKate Ishida (1st Place) – Artificial Reefs
\nJeffrey Seo (2nd Place) – Greywater Garden
\nIris Lee (3rd Place) – Terminating Fire<\/p>\n
