(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The overall winners were 7th grader Kate Ishida for the junior high division and 5th grader Hyeonbin Jeong in the elementary division.<\/p>\n<p>Ishida won for her science project involving artificial reefs, while Jeong topped the division with a \u201cMoneywise Consumers\u201d science project.<\/p>\n<p>SCS principal Bobby Winfield also thanked Subway for sponsoring this year\u2019s Science Fair.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the class winners and their science project topics are as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>3RD GRADE<\/strong><br \/>\nHans Xu (1st Place) &#8211; Plant Growth<br \/>\nCamille Sablan (2nd Place) &#8211; Plant Growth in Sunlight and Artificial Light<br \/>\nDerick Kwon (3rd Place) &#8211; Big Seeds vs. Small Seeds<\/p>\n<p><strong>4TH GRADE<\/strong><br \/>\nHuiwon Jeong (1st Place) &#8211; The Sinking of the Paper Titanic<br \/>\nMichelle Ryu (2nd Place) &#8211; Potato Pimble Problem<br \/>\nCloie Seo (3rd Place) &#8211; It\u2019s So Dirty!<\/p>\n<p><strong>5TH GRADE<\/strong><br \/>\nHyeonbin Jeong (1st Place) &#8211; Moneywise Consumers<br \/>\nSeung Jin Paik (2nd Place) &#8211; Memories<br \/>\nKevin Liang (3rd Place) &#8211; Which sound affects dogs most?<\/p>\n<p><strong>6TH GRADE<\/strong><br \/>\nMark Nam (1st Place) &#8211; Homopolar Motor<br \/>\n Jason Sablan (2nd Place) &#8211; Best Soda Cooling Method<br \/>\nMaxine Rabago (3rd Place) &#8211; Liquid Evaporation<\/p>\n<p><strong>7TH GRADE<\/strong><br \/>\nKate Ishida (1st Place) &#8211; Artificial Reefs<br \/>\nJeffrey Seo (2nd Place) &#8211; Greywater Garden<br \/>\nIris Lee (3rd Place) &#8211; Terminating Fire<\/p>\n<p><strong>8TH GRADE<\/strong><br \/>\nAlex Chen (1st Place) &#8211; Does music help your memory?<br \/>\n Kevin He (2nd Place) &#8211; Can apples make other fruits ripen faster?<br \/>\nEun Bi Hwang (3rd Place) &#8211; Which liquid makes Tylenol dissolve the fastest?
