The government is continuing road improvements throughout Saipan, the latest of which is a road-marking and signage project in Route 37 (Chalan Monsignor Martinez Road) and Route 321 (Santa Lourdes Road).<\/p>\n

In a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday morning, Lt. Gov. Ralph DLG. Torres said the project is part of the government\u2019s \u201cislandwide\u201d improvement.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday marks our ongoing efforts to improve our island\u2019s road-marking and signage upgrades,\u201d Torres, in a prepared speech, said. \u201cThe completion of the upgrades is scheduled before Thanksgiving.\u201d

Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang said the road-marking and signage project \u201cis important for motorists and pedestrians\u201d from the nearby communities.<\/p>\n

According to the project contract information sheet, the project will be managed by the Department of Public Works, with private firm Big Bell, Inc. as the construction contractor.<\/p>\n

Funding of $298,619 will come from the Federal Highway Administration.<\/p>\n

The project includes rehabilitation of road markings, upgrade of traffic signage, and road-shoulder reconditioning. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
