The Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation has passed two bills that will soon be transmitted to the Office of the Governor for signing.<\/p>\n
House Local Bills 19-07 and 19-08 were passed by unanimous vote, after a thorough discussion at the House chamber on Capital Hill yesterday.<\/p>\n
Delegation chair Rep. John Paul Sablan (R-Saipan) presided over the session.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese approved bills will be directly transmitted to the Office of Governor for signing,\u201d Sablan said after the session adjourned.<\/p>\n
H.L.B 19-07 seeks to appropriate $40,000 in revenues generated from pachinko and poker license fees collected on Saipan.<\/p>\n
Some changes were made on H.L.B 19-07, including the allocation of the funds to certain projects by the Department of Public Works, which will also be the expenditure authority.<\/p>\n
Some areas of improvement include Alageta Road, Kannat Tabla, San Vicente, and Kagman.<\/p>\n
The bill was introduced by Rep. Francis S. Taimanao (Ind-Saipan).<\/p>\n
H.L.B 19-08 also seeks to appropriate $40,000 to improve Dandan Middle School, San Antonio Elemntary School, and Koblerville Elementary School. DPW is also the expenditure authority.<\/p>\n
