{"id":199279,"date":"2015-04-16T03:50:39","date_gmt":"2015-04-15T17:50:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=199279"},"modified":"2015-04-16T03:50:39","modified_gmt":"2015-04-15T17:50:39","slug":"flame-tree-arts-festival-opening-ceremony-is-moved-to-thursday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/flame-tree-arts-festival-opening-ceremony-is-moved-to-thursday\/","title":{"rendered":"Flame Tree Arts Festival opening ceremony moved to Thursday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Commonwealth Council of Arts and Culture would like the community to know that the Flame Tree Arts Festival opening ceremony this year will be held Thursday next week, from their original date of Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>CCAC executive director Angel Hocog said that it\u2019s been a practice that they open on Saturday but after talks with Department of Culture and Community Affairs Secretary Laura Ogumoro, they decided to host the ceremony on the festival\u2019s opening day itself.<\/p>\n<p>This would get more participants for the ceremony, he explained, and unlike previous years, would line up with their opening date.<\/p>\n<p>The festival\u2019s organizing committee voted unanimously on this change yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>According to committee member Gordon Marciano, this year they are joining forces on stage with radio hosts for the first time. \u201cWe are happy to have them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Another highlight this year is the Bridge Capital-sponsored 5th Annual CNMI Art Competition.
