{"id":199696,"date":"2015-04-21T04:05:46","date_gmt":"2015-04-20T18:05:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=199696"},"modified":"2015-04-21T04:05:46","modified_gmt":"2015-04-20T18:05:46","slug":"1-2k-join-pic-hafa-adai-color-run","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/1-2k-join-pic-hafa-adai-color-run\/","title":{"rendered":"1.2K join PIC Hafa Adai Color Run"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Singaporean Ashwin Mohan Ram was among the 1,200 runners that joined last Saturday\u2019s Hafa Adai 5K Color Run, which started and ended at the Pacific Islands Club in San Antonio.<\/p>\n<p>Ram, who was on Saipan for business, said he decided to join the fundraising event on the invitation of PIC staff.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe people at PIC recommended it. It was a really cool event and it\u2019s for a good cause,\u201d said Ram, a computer software engineer. \u201cI love to come back here for a vacation with my wife, but I don\u2019t know when. Maybe, if there\u2019s not much work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Families, friends, employees from different business establishments, and students from various schools packed the northbound lane of Beach Road where they ran from PIC to Chalan Kanoa across the Triple J Wholesale store and back.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_199700\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-199700\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a attid=\"199700\"  href=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/hafa-adai-pix.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/hafa-adai-pix-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteers throw colored powder to runners in last Saturday\u2019s PIC Hafa Ada 5K Fun Run. (Jon Perez)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A 30-member personnel from the newly created Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services, wearing red shirts, also participated and livened up the 5K run with cadence calls.<\/p>\n<p>Agape Christian School had the most number of elementary students with 18, while Hopwood Junior High School topped the junior and middle school division with 33.
