We look forward to many new artists joining the competition next year. The competition categories were Best of Show, Paintings, Wood-Carving and Others, Photography, Texter\u2019s Choice Award, Governor\u2019s Choice Award, and Best New Artist<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBest of Show\u201d went to Robert Hunter for \u201cThe Conversation,\u201d a painting of boy and a baby sea turtle in the sand by the ocean.<\/p>\n<p>Under the paintings category, Rosemary Diaz won for her \u201cMay Tide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a note to her painting, Diaz described her work as \u201ccapturing the unique formation of coconuts, fishkill seeds, decayed driftwood, sand bars, coral, rocks, and marine life.<\/p>\n<p>Second place for painting went to Joe Kani for \u201cSpray of Pink,\u201d a paining of native flowers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s been doing it for many, many years in the CNMI.
