With a title like that, is it any wonder the (EIS) Overseas (OEIS) statement is over 1,000 pages long? The military has provided copies to be read online, which include a 40-page executive summary. I used the summary as a basis for my short poems (containing opinions) found below. I have put certain terms in CAPITAL LETTERS to emphasize the terms as they are found in the impact statement itself. Senryu are haiku about people.<\/p>\n<p>S. T. O. P. \u2013 S.enryu T.inian O.peration P.oetry<br \/>\nT.H.I.N.K. \u2013 T.inian H.as I.nformative N.ew K.nowledge<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nbombs above Pagan<br \/>\nguns in Tinian below<br \/>\nwho gets hurt we don\u2019t know<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nEIS \/OEIS impact statement<br \/>\none thousand pages long<br \/>\ngot anything wrong?<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nUnai Chulu ramp<br \/>\nbringing in the heavy stuff<br \/>\nwhen will enough be enough?<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\ntake a look sixty days<br \/>\nEIS thicker than NYC phone book<br \/>\nleft me in a daze<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nlisten to the request<br \/>\ntake time to learn what\u2019s between us<br \/>\nfrom GOVERNOR INOS<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\ntaotao Marianas<br \/>\nread the executive summary<br \/>\nget info on modern gunnery<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nPagan inert bombs<br \/>\nTinian live ammunition<br \/>\nlearn the definition<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nsoldiers at Tinian stationed<br \/>\nNINETY FIVE for the duration<br \/>\nhelp for science education?<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nIBB radio station<br \/>\nmove it or not<br \/>\ntopic is hot<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nabout the radio station<br \/>\nconflicting situation<br \/>\nstrategic complication<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nwin win military and Tinian<br \/>\nair thoughts for clearing<br \/>\noutcome of hearings<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nlive munitions dump<br \/>\njust before the runway begins<br \/>\nonly explosion wins<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\ntalk about road side device<br \/>\nlive ammo before landing<br \/>\nmilitary needs to think twice<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nUnai Chulu<br \/>\nramp on ancient village site<br \/>\ndoesn\u2019t seem right<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nabout Invasion Beach<br \/>\nexercise your freedom of speech<br \/>\npractice what you preach<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u201cas we now live\u201d is the<br \/>\nNO ACTION ALTERNATIVE<br \/>\nno one to forgive<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nTinian right now<br \/>\nfour live fire ranges<br \/>\nwhy make changes?<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nmilitary water use<br \/>\nmillions of gallons<br \/>\nany left for STALLIONS?<\/p>\n<p>RANGE OPERATIONS<br \/>\nlose the radio station<br \/>\npossible situation<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0AMPHIBIOUS ASSAULT VEHICLE<br \/>\nlanding at Chulu Beach<br \/>\nwill tourists ever reach<\/p>\n<p>four miles off the coast<br \/>\nALT.
